Breaking the Habit
For the past few nights, when Hubby and I check on our little Peanut after bedtime, we find her fast asleep...not in her big girl bed, but underneath her big girl bed.
This has happened for the past 5 nights in a row. I don't want her slamming her head on the under-part of the bed, but I do want her to sleeeeeep! (And most of you know that she's not the best sleeper on the planet.)
Any thoughts or suggestions? :o)

Beach Day in February
When you grow up within a 10-minute drive of the blue water and soft sand, it's hard to get used to living in the middle of PA. So, I convinced Curt to take a little break from my parent's house project and take the Little Miss and I to the beach on this sunny, beautiful day. Danae acted just like she did last summer: loved the sand, hated the rolling waves. I just enjoyed the beautiful blue sky and being able to see the water and sand for miles and miles.
One of the beautiful houses on Long Beach Island. Wouldn't it be neat to rent this baby for a week???

Aaaahhh...so my craving was filled. I'll be back, LBI. I may be resembling a beached whale this summer, since I'll be 8 or 9 months pregnant, but I'll be back.Friday, February 1, 2008
Extreme Home Makeover
My parents asked Hubby to do some work on their house this weekend, so we are here in NJ, both of us doing over respective work, while Danae runs around Nana and Papa's house.
Project #1: The laundry room. This room still has old, red, chipping tile on the floor that I remember from when I was really little. The paint on the walls is starting to chip, and the entire room just needed a bit of a facelift.
AND AFTER:
Now the room just looks a bit bigger and brighter!
Project #2: The Storage Room
A few months ago, my sister, Hubby, and I cleaned out this room and got rid of the years of rat-packing and hording in there. (We found middle and high school homework and books in there from when we were kids! Woah!) Now, Hubby is patching up parts of the walls, sanding, painting, and re-arranging a few things.
BEFORE:
AND AFTER:
The walls and ceiling look sooo much better, despite the fact that we couldn't do much about the "stuff" in the room. I really love being married to a handy-man! :o)

Time For A Checkup
Today's appointment: polar opposite. Danae was an angel, saying hi to everyone, asking what things were, saying she was a doctor, etc. It helped, too, that the midwife was AWESOME and explained everything to Danae just as much as she did to me. She included my little girl in everything...even letting her put the goop stuff on the doppler to find the baby's heartbeat and giving her her very own set of supplies so she could draw blood from Daddy and her dolls when she got home. (Don't worry...a real needle wasn't given.) :o)
Needless to say, I was very proud of my curious toddler. I even overlooked the part when she came in the bathroom with me so I could give a urine sample, and then proceeded to take the cup and spill my pee all over the floor. (No, really...I'm not kidding.) Hey, at least she didn't spill the whole thing. *sigh* I love my girl!
