An Update

Seven months down, two to go!
I really am floored by how quickly this pregnancy is going by. God always knows what we need, and I'm certain he's helping this pregnancy along at a quicker rate. :o) Now if He can only make this summer a little cooler and less humid, my feet a little less Flintstone-looking, the allergy attacks non-existent, and my mood swings a bit less swingy-er, we'd be set! HA! No, but seriously, I really can't complain. I've had minor aches and no major problems with this one, and I know of women who have gone (or are going through!) much worse things in their pregnancies than I am...so, the complaining shall cease.

Our Peanut seems to continue to love her baby brother, even though he's still in-utero. (We'll see what happens when the little screamer keeps her up at night, right?) She daily says hi to him, kisses him (well, my belly), and includes him in talks, prayers, and just about everything. It's too cute for words and definitely brightens my mood each day. Her choice of a name (Trash Gordon...yes, the man from Sesame Street) is still not on our list, though she says she is going to call him that. We've run many names by her and had her say them out loud, but Trash Gordon seems to reign in her 2-year-old mind. :o)

Speaking of our little trooper: A few days ago, we went for a short, slow walk around the block. While walking, Danae fell on the sidewalk and scraped both knees. Her Daddy scooping her up and carrying her the rest of the way and only about 30 seconds of crying seemed to make the pain go away. When I noticed the blood trickling down both knees, I told Danae that I'd take care of them when we got home...to which she responded in the sweetest voice, "It's okay, Mama...I'm gonna be okay." How I didn't burst into tears on the spot I'll never know.

Happy Surprise Birthday Party!

This past weekend we celebrated five birthdays (my dad, my mom, my aunt (who is my mom's twin), my uncle (my aunt's husband), and my niece Maddie. They all have birthdays within a few weeks of each other, and three of the adults are turning 60. So, my siblings, cousin, and I decided to throw them a surprise party on Saturday. It went off without any major issues (not counting the dog fight) :o), and we had a great time catching up with family members that we haven't seen in a while. The food turned out great, and the weather was beautiful! What more could you ask for?

Thanks so much to all who were involved, helped with set-up/clean-up, helped with distracting the birthday people, and more! It was definitely a great group effort and a lot of fun!

Mountains Weekend

Hello all! We are back (with new camera in hand). :o) Seriously, this camera is great...highly recommended! We are still learning all of the features and stuff with it, and I'm hoping I'll understand it all soon.

We were away this past weekend in Tioga County at my in-law's cabin. Even though it rained the majority of the time (except Saturday), we really had a great time of game-playing, wall-painting (my in-laws did all of the painting...it looks terrific!), relaxing, walking, and biking.

Hope you had a great weekend!

Camera finds and other news...

Thanks for the suggestions and comments about a camera! After much research into about 6 or 7 different makes and models, we decided on the Canon A570 IS, which one of Canon's 2007 models. We got an incredible deal on it (new) on one of my favorite online bargain shopping places, and I can't wait for it to arrive this week! Very exciting! :o)

Also, here's an answer to prayer. After our issues with the former insurance company, I now have insurance through 6 weeks after this little boy is born. Yippee! And, with this insurance, the bill at the birth center is covered! We were so thankful to find this out. :o) Thank you, Lord!

Needed: One Great Camera

Any suggestions on where to find a great, fairly inexpensive digital camera? Yes, our fantastic eBay find from almost 4 years ago decided not to turn on anymore. (Nooo, it's not the batteries...but thanks for taking into account my pregnancy brain.) :o) And it's such an older, discontinued model that we aren't even sure if it's worth getting fixed. So, if you have suggestions, please bring me into the light!

Oh, and the robin's eggs hatched this past weekend...pictures to be posted as soon as I get the film developed from the 35mm camera. :o)

Dad Update

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers! My dad is home and doing well, resting when he should be, walking around, etc. Danae and I are in NJ for a day, checking in on Papa. Peanut made sure the doctor's kit came along and gave Papa a check-up.

Hmm...your heart sounds good...

...and your eyes look great!

You get the doctor's kiss of approval!

The Good and The Bad

When it comes to good news and bad news, I never know which to put first. If there is a definitive answer out there, someone please let me know.

At any rate, I'll start with this: I'm 6 months along and - AGH! - am now in the last trimester. We feel like we just found out last week that number two is coming, and now we have less than 3 months left. Too crazy. Here's a 6-month picture. (We just got out of the bath/shower, and Peanut likes to be in the pictures, too.)

News #2: Prayers would be greatly appreciated for my dad. He had a mild heart attack this week, and the doctors found a few blockages (one significant enough for a stent, the others treatable with meds). So, as he goes home today and recovers, let's pray that he'll heal nicely and make some life-changing decisions regarding his health. :o)

Have a happy Thursday!
