I was recently tagged on Facebook by a college buddy to write "25 Random Things" about myself...things, facts, habits, goals, etc. I'm sure that the entire Facebook community has done this by now...I'm just a little on the slow side. Like most things (such as debating, arguing, deep discussions, etc.), I need time to process my thoughts, and I can usually get back to you within a week or two. Yeah, don't ask me to be on your debate team...ever. ;o)
Anywho, I thought I'd put my "25 Things" on here as well. Makes for an interesting post...
Have a happy Monday!

"25 Random Things"
1) I'm half Puertorican and half Irish...thus the college nickname "The Puertorican Leprechaun".
2) To add to the nickname mentioned in #1: my birthday is on St. Patrick's Day. Makes the nickname even more appropriate. My lack of excessive height also made it stick.
3) I secretly wish I owned a bakery where I created and sold good-for-you cookies, cakes, pies, smoothies...and other creations that I come up with.
4) I love to cook and bake for lots of people. Planning my parents'/aunt's/uncle's joint birthday party last year and making food for it was a high for me.
5) I LOVE it when my house is completely clean and organized. It's a wonderful feeling.
6) I am much more open to God's will in my life now than I ever was before. If He wants us to be missionaries, I'm all for it!
7) Running is my release...release of stress, worries, sweat, you name it.
8) I love the Spanish language and can understand it pretty well. I need to brush up on my speaking skills, though.
9) I MUCH prefer warm weather to cold...unless it's 90-something degrees out. That just makes me feel like I'm going to pass out.
10) I would really, really like to go on a missions trip to a Spanish-speaking country.
11) I grew up around Long Beach Island and love the beach, even though we don't get there nearly as much as I'd like to.
12) Thanks to growing up in the sun, Irish skin, and possibly cancerous genes, I had stage 1 melanoma when I was 20 years old, plus several pre-cancerous removals. None recently, though!
13) I love sports, especially soccer, and really enjoy watching them. Baseball bores me somewhat, although I will still go to a game and have fun.
14) I really like Australian accents and would love to visit Australia someday. If only it weren't so expensive!
15) I gave birth to my first child in the hospital and my second in a birth center. My labor and birth of each was completely opposite of one another (drugs vs. no drugs, length, etc.), but I truly believe that God planned them that way for a reason and has shown that to us.
16) My long-term memory is not so great. I can't remember much from my childhood, unless something sparks it. My husband thinks I'm suppressing something. :o)
17) I really don't like my feet. Enough said.
18) I had my tongue pierced for 6 months when I was in college. Two chipped teeth and Steph's dad bribing me with $20 was enough for me to take it out.
19) I love to snuggle.
20) I have a hard time sitting still and doing one thing, even if it's to watch a movie. I need to be doing something else at the same time. Multi-tasking should be my middle name.
21) Speaking of middle names: I don't have one. If you think of a good one for me, I'll consider it.
22) I had my first job when I was 14. Just like 10% of the people in this country, I worked at McDonald's for a few years. I pretty much have always had a job since then.
23) One job I'd like to have: work for Runner's World magazine.
24) Your birthday is the one day of the year that is meant for you and should be celebrated!
25) I believe God's doing some big things in my life right now...and He's not done yet. :o)

Danae-isms
What a week! Besides being crazy-busy, the house is now on the market, and I'm gearing up for 3 (THREE) showings today alone! AAAGGGHHH! Thank the Lord that we completely overhauled the house on Saturday (yup, a nice Valentine's Day project...no nap or relaxation for me!). ;o)
And thank God, too, that I have my little Peanut to keep cracking me up. I tell ya, if she weren't so darn funny and cute, I'd be even more stressed than I am now! Yeah, she can be a handful at times, but she's also my little helper. :o) I hope you enjoy her sayings as much as I have.
#1
We were in Target, looking for a new nursing bra for me.
Me: Danae, where are you?
Danae (calling from an aisle or two over): Over here! I'm just looking for new boobies for you, Mommy!
Danae (approaching and talking VERY loudly): Look, Mommy! Look at the new boobies that I found for you! (She was holding 3 or 4 very teenage-looking bras in various shades of bright pink and blue.)
Me (probably a shade of bright red by now): Wow! What colors! Listen, you need to whisper, ok? Now, put those back for me.
#2
Hubby and I were standing in the kitchen, talking. In walks Danae...
Danae (with hands up by her ears, pointer fingers pointing straight up): Look, Daddy! I'm a deer! Now shoot me!
Me (with Daddy cracking up too hard to answer): Ok, uhhh...let's just pretend you were shot.
Danae (now laying on the floor): Ok, I'm dead. Now cut me open.
(Apparently the girl knows a bit too much about deer hunting.) :o)

6-Month Update
Someone thinks he's a big boy now.
Baby had his six-month check-up last week. He weighed in at almost 19 pounds and 27.5 inches long...right on track! He definitely doesn't look 19 pounds, but when you pick him up, you feel it! He also got 2 shots and cried for about 3 seconds...then just stayed on the table, happily sucking away at his bottle. Silly.
Nowadays Caedon can roll over (both ways), push up fully, and sit by himself. He's trying to get up on his knees, but no luck yet. But his favorite thing to do is blow raspberries...especially when food is in his mouth. Oh, the joy...
We also took six-month pics and had Caedon dedicated in church this past Sunday. All went well with no news to report!

Race and Places
When I started this blog a year and a half ago, it served a couple purposes: 1) to keep family updated on us, the kids, etc. especially since no one from my side of the family lives close by (*tear*), and 2) to keep people updated and myself motivated on my running and racing happenings. Lately I'm feeling like #2 went by the way-side...but never fear! Running is slowly but surely making it's way back into my life, now that Baby doesn't need to nurse every hour or so (not exaggerating) and I can steal a half hour here and there when Hubby is home!
I had the joyous opportunity to get a 3-miler in on Sunday and then, since the car apparently needs a new radiator (grrr), I dropped it off yesterday and ran the 2.5 miles home pushing the kiddos in the stroller. Yippee! Actually, the Monday run ended up containing more walk than run, and it also involved me cutting through a farm field to get home quicker. You try pushing 70+ pounds uphill, with a screaming, irritated little boy in the stroller. Not cool.
Anywho, I'm trying to plan out what races I want to tackle this year, and so far it's looking like:
1) Garden Spot Village Marathon (the relay...not the whole thing) :o)
2) Red Rose Run (5-miler)
3) Blue Ball 5-Mile Run (Yeah, I know...it's the town name, so get over it!)
I want to add maybe one more 5K, but I haven't decided which one yet. Also, all of these races will hopefully lead up to one big, EXCITING race...the Disney World Marathon in January 2010! My friend Sarah and I so badly want to run Disney that we are almost willing to beg, borrow, and steal to get there. Once we convince our husbands of this need, we are golden! :o)
